The online revolution is spreading like wildfire the Internet presents vast opportunities and advantages for a home-based entrepreneur.
Forget the idea that you can get rich quick in the Internet. Your success will greatly depend on your patience, perseverance and ability to take advantage of fast opportunities in this hyper-fast environment. Believe me, it is a lot of hard work.
Vast international exposure. The Internet opens the whole world to you. It's up to you take advantage of it. Consumers, investors, foreign contacts are all available at the click of the "mouse".
Constantly marketing your business. To succeed on the Internet, it is imperative to take the time to do one little thing to market your business each and every day. If possible, you should spend at least two hours of your day marketing your business, whether it is submitting your pages to the search engine, posting responses on bulletin boards (and your ever-present signature file) and newsgroups, sending articles for possible publication in e-zines, or networking with other online entrepreneurs.
Sending unsolicited e-mail.
Many new online marketers make the mistake of sending unsolicited e-mail, or spam, to get the word out about their business. They are lured by the false promises of mailing list vendors that that e-mail lists that they are buying are "opt-ins" or have agreed to receive e-mails from marketers like them. Instead, they learn the hard way that spam messages are ineffective marketing vehicles: recipients purely delete the messages, or worse, even complain to the marketer's ISP and Web hosts to terminate the account. Instead of their traffic going through the roof, your inbox can be flooded with flames, hate mails and requests for remove. Receiving even one flame message can be disheartening, much more so requests for termination of your accounts. Others, what I call the "true-blue spammers" send out marketing messages which credibility are strictly compromised by the fact that they present wrong e-mail addresses and disguises their IP addresses. Such a waste of time and resources!
The latest craze is to give away e-books from your website.
E-books are small books either in exe files or zip files which educate people on topics such as press releases, marketing and even how to compile an e-book. The author has a lot of relevant information plus includes a link to his website in the e-book. This can be offered on his own website as well as given to other webmasters.
Is failing a possibility
My 33 year experience shows me one of the main reasons people do not fulfill their goals is "giving up, or in to outside pressure" to soon. I have heard countless reasons: my mortgage, my kids education, my wife (and this is most often the case), my job does not allow me the time, I do not have the time, I do not have the stomach , and the largest one of them all-money is not everything! Or money can not buy you happiness!
All goals are not financial. I have written and said this countless times. But I can assure you, it is at the head of most individuals' goals - or more importantly money "buys" you freedom to make absolutely more choices. The individual who writes below now has a continuum of choices he could not have envisioned 8 years ago! That's a great new problem basically all of you would like to have!
So why do so many not achieve their goals? As the writer so approably states - it's "your belief system" that keeps you from fulfilling your dreams. We are all products of our socio and economic milieu's. We are what we hang out with, or as the kids used to say, chill out with. (I am a little unclear what that really means.) I have written, I never met a part time high performance person. And like people congregate together in like surroundings - with people they refer to. That is not to say high performance people do not fly alone. On the contrary they soar often alone like an eagle. Many high performance people are perceived to be loners. Whether you're a loner or not - soar!
