Are you taking advantage of free local advertising to generate more business? While you may only be focusing your advertising online to get new customers from "everywhere", you should look into your local customer potential as well.
Local customers will also provide you an opportunity to network and / or trade / barter services and goods. While you may not be earning cash this way you are certainly building credibility and testimonials which are priceless!
MerchantCircle.com offers free online advertising. You can list your website, business phone and customers can also review your business. Connecting with other local businesses can also help you generate more traffic.
Craigslist.org is another place to find local customers. To avoid scams or spam be sure to have your email set to anonymous and list your business site for contact. You may also include photos of your items if your business call for that.
I have saved the best for last. Google is a really great way to advertise your business locally and gets you at the top of the Google page. Not to be confused with page rankings. Google Local Ads show up at the top of a Google search. Customers can also leave comments here.
A bit about reviews.
Out of the 3 local ad options I listed Craigslist is the only one that does not allow customer reviews. While I still think Craigslist is a viable option, I must say reviews really help you build your business.
Whichever you choose just be sure to choose something, every source for generating more leads must be investigated.
