Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was reportedly kidnapped on the streets of Brooklyn, beaten, and left in hospital

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was kidnapped and robbed on Sunday in an attack that left him hospitalized, according to multiple reports.

He was in a car in Brooklyn when three men removed him, put him in their car and robbed him of an "undisclosed amount of jewelry," news agency the Associated Press reports.

The New York Police Department confirmed that the Brooklyn-born rapper visited a police station in the early hours of Sunday morning to report the event.

Here's a video of him discussing the experience on Instagram live:

The rapper, 22, "became uncooperative" after filing his police report, and was admitted to a hospital, the Associated Press said.

Since then, conflicting versions of the abduction have emerged.

Sources initially told TMZ that the rapper was pistol-whipped — hit with a handgun used as a blunt weapon — by three men until he lost consciousness. Other sources have suggested he was not beaten until unconscious.

He was then taken into their car where they drove him home and took approximately $750,000 in jewelry and $20,000 in cash, TMZ said.

He was able to escape and another man called 911, according to this report.

The attack took place outside of CityScapes, a strip club in Queens, New York, according to Page Six.

6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, had just released a new song, "FEFE," which features Nicki Minaj, only hours before. A voice at the start of the song calls him the "king of New York."

The attack also comes after 6ix9ine was arrested for allegedly choking a 16-year-old in a mall in Houston. He was released on bail last week.

He posted a picture of recently-murdered rapper XXXTentacion on Sunday along with a caption where he appeared to address the attack. "As crazy as it sounds.. yesterday morning I had a feeling that it was my day to die. May GOD strike me dead if I'm lying. Everything happens for a reason," he wrote.

XXXTentacion was fatally shot in June as he was being robbed.

"Nothing materialistic is more important then LIFE. I live to see another DAY. I get to see my daughter another day."

He also went on Instagram live, where he told fans "I'm just glad to be alive."
